A MARTA bus went into a ditch Friday morning in Clayton County after the driver blacked out, agency spokesman Erik Burton said.

The driver and 21 passengers, one of whom is pregnant, were taken to local hospitals.

The accident occurred in the 200 block of Tradeport Boulevard, Atlanta police spokesman Donald Hannah said in a statement.

All but two of the passengers had been released from Grady Memorial Hospital as of Friday afternoon, MARTA spokeswoman Stephany Fisher confirmed.

The driver remained at Grady, Fisher said.

“They’re going to keep her overnight to evaluate what caused her to pass out,” Fisher said.

The pregnant woman is fine, Fisher said, but she remains at Emory Hospital with her child, who suffered a left arm injury.
