A real estate inspector discovered a small marijuana-growing operation Friday afternoon in a vacant Gwinnett County home, according to police.

The home is located in the 3800 block of Knotts Pass Road, off Lee Road near Snellville, according to Cpl. Jake Smith with Gwinnett police.

Police and firefighters were on the scene, initially believing methamphetamine was being produced, Smith said. The barrels of chemicals were determined to be water and fertilizer which were being used to grow a small number of marijuana plants in the home, Smith said.
