Road closures and parking options have been announced for Marietta’s “Let Freedom Ring” Parade and “Fourth in the Park” festival with fireworks on Saturday, July 4.
The parade of 2,000 participants begins at 10 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church, 774 Roswell St., traveling west on Roswell Street, north on East Park Square, past Glover Park and the Square, down Cherokee Street and ending at North Marietta Parkway.
Roswell Street, west of Cobb Parkway, will be closed for the parade from 9:30 a.m. to around 12:15 p.m.
The Rev. Harris T. Travis, senior pastor of Zion Baptist Church in Marietta, whose church is celebrating its 150th anniversary, will serve as Grand Marshal.
North, South, East and West Park Square around the Marietta Square will be closed for the entire day and evening of the festival.
Free parking is available in the two parking decks east of Cherokee Street, which can be reached from Lawrence Street or Lemon Street, and in the parking deck at Marietta City Hall, 205 Lawrence St.
Also, free parking and trolley shuttle service are available at Grace Pointe Church, 505 Atlanta St. S.E., from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
