The Marietta City Council voted last week to authorize Mayor Steve Tumlin to see if the Downtown Marietta Development Authority would help pay up to $115,000 for the Marietta Square restrooms.

The cost for the two restrooms beneath the Glover Park stage is more than the $167,000 estimated.

There was only one bidder who offered $334,000.

Another alternative discussed is to build restroom facilities for eight users in front of the county parking deck.
