The Marietta Police Department has cited seven businesses with selling alcoholic beverages to underage buyers.

During the alcohol compliance check on Monday, 21 businesses were checked with the department using underage buyers who did not provide false identification or misrepresent their age.

It is the responsibility of the seller to check IDs and refuse to sell to underage persons, said Marietta Police Officer Brittany Wallace.

The businesses in violation are:

  • Ruby Tuesday, 2435 Delk Road
  • Shell Food Mart, 850 Sandy Plains Road
  • Chevron Food Mart, 1023 Sandy Plains Road
  • Quick Mart, 690 Cherokee St.
  • Marietta Diner, 306 Cobb Parkway S.
  • Fairground Food Mart, 619 N. Fairground St.
  • BP Gas Station, 1230 Cobb Parkway N.
