Man sucking lollipop robs bank in Mableton

May 12, 2012

Cobb County police are looking for the man who robbed a bank Friday morning while sucking a lollipop.

The incident happened at the Wells Fargo bank at 5010 Floyd Road in Mableton.

The suspect, with a lollipop in his mouth, entered the bank around 10:30 a.m. and showed a teller a note that said he had a gun, police said. The man fled on foot after collecting an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He was wearing an Atlanta Falcons hat, a white T-shirt, a dark zip-up hooded sweatshirt, dark shorts, and black and white sneakers.

The Wells Fargo branch also was targeted by a robber less than a year ago. In June 2011, a bandit wearing a SpongeBob Square Pants baseball cap got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police ask anyone with information on Friday's robbery to call them at 770-499-3945.
