Cobb County police are looking for a teenage bank robber who is apparently a fan of a popular children’s cartoon.

Cobb County Police This man wearing a SpongeBob Squarepants cap held up the Wells Fargo branch in the 5000 block of Floyd Road in Mableton, on Tuesday, June 27.

The robbery occurred about 4:35 Tuesday at the Wells Fargo branch in the 5000 block of Floyd Road in Mableton, Cobb police spokesman Mike Bowman said.

Bowman said the robber produced a “demand note,” indicating that he had a gun and wanted money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he ran from the bank.

The suspect was described as black, in his mid- to late teens and wearing a dark t-shirt and a yellow “SpongeBob Square Pants” baseball cap.
