Gwinnett County police are searching for at least two suspects accused of shooting and killing a man during a suspected home invasion Monday afternoon.
The victim, 47-year-old Marvin Tyus, lived in the home, near Snellville, Cpl. Jake Smith with Gwinnett police told the AJC. Tyus owned a plumbing business, Vortex Plumbing, which he ran out of his home.
Officers were called to the 4600 block of Anderson-Livsey Lane, off Centerville Highway, just after 4:20 p.m., Smith said. Other people also were in the home at the time of the shooting, but no one else was injured, he said.
Witnesses told police two males entered the home and then left in a red passenger car, Smith said. A third suspect may have been driving that car, he said.
The two suspects are described as black males, one in his early 20s, and the other, a taller man in his early 30s with dreadlocks, Smith said. Both were wearing black T-shirts.
Investigators believe the Tyus was randomly targeted, Smith said.
