A man was shot near a high school football stadium after a game in Griffin Friday night, police said.

Griffin High School had just finished playing Spalding High, when the man was shot near the Griffin campus, police told Channel 2 Action News.

The shooting happened by a Shell gas station close to the football stadium, but authorities have not revealed whether or not the incident was related to the game.

The victim was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital for treatment, but police have not released his condition.

Griffin police said he is not a student from either school.
