A man was found injured near tracks at the Candler Park MARTA station, prompting officials to suspend train service for about 45 minutes Wednesday night, an agency spokeswoman said.

About 9:15 p.m., a man was reported to be between an eastbound train and the wall, spokeswoman Stephany Fisher said.

“We don't know how he got there,” she told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “It doesn't appear that he was hit by the train.”

MARTA police and emergency medical crews responded, and the man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

“I do not know the nature of his injuries,” Fisher said. Also, the man’s identity is not known.

After the tracks were shut down, MARTA used buses to take passengers to their intended destinations during the down time.

Trains started running again about 10 p.m.
