A 22-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison plus five years for fatally shooting a man during a dispute over noise in Union City.

A jury convicted Octavious Turner in the death of 23-year-old Quintavies Johnson, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said in a press release Wednesday.

Johnson was shot in the back of his head on March 15, 2011, in the parking lot of his girlfriend’s Oakley Road apartment complex. He had gotten into an argument after asking Turner and other guests who were visiting his girlfriend’s roommate to leave the apartment because they were making too much noise, prosecutors said.

Witnesses identified Turner, who fled the scene after the shooting, authorities said. He was arrested the next day.

Turner was found guilty of murder, felony murder and weapons charges.
