A man robbed a bank in DeKalb County on Tuesday afternoon apparently armed only with a note.

He walked into the Wachovia Bank branch at Redan and Hairston roads near Stone Mountain, brandished a note demanding money and walked out, Mekka Parish, a spokeswoman for the DeKalb County Police Department, told the AJC.

He never showed a gun or other weapon when he told the teller to give him cash, Parish said.

"She complied, handing him an undetermined amount of money," Parish said.

Police got a call about the robbery at 1 p.m.

Authorities described the suspect as a slender black male in his early 20s, approximately 5-feet, 6-inches tall, with low-cut facial hair. He was wearing a light-colored button-down shirt and a black baseball cap.

Parish said the suspect escaped on foot.
