A Gwinnett County man is accused of tattooing 13 minors in his home and forging a business license.
Joshua Robert Williams, 37, allegedly tattooed high school students, Gwinnett police said. A parent of a high school student tipped off police.
Georgia law prohibits tattooing anyone under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent. The minors who received the tattoos will not face charges, police said.
A search of the suspects' Auburn home turned up documentation showing that students from various high schools received tattoos at the hands of Williams, who had a phony license, police said.
"Somehow or another, [he] obtained someone's business license, forged it under his name and forged the business, basically," Cpl. Edwin Ritter told Channel 2 Action News.
Williams faces two felony forgery charges in addition to the illegal tattoo charges, according to jail records.
According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, Williams is a convicted felon who spent nearly four years in state prison. Williams, who was convicted of armed robbery and aggravated assault in Polk County, was released from state custody in November 1999.
