A man accused of setting a teenager on fire in a Woodstock motel room has also been charged with trying to entice a juvenile at a Gwinnett County public swimming pool, Channel 2 Action News reports.

On June 16, Joseph Raymond Zoeck tried to entice a minor in the locker room of the West Gwinnett Aquatic Center on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard near Norcross, police said. The youth was under 16, but his exact age was not disclosed.

"The suspect was naked in the shower and [Zoeck] actually made beckoning motions to [the youth] from inside the shower,” Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith told Channel 2.

The juvenile left the locker room and told his parents what happened. By the time police arrived, the suspect was gone.

On July 10, the 62-year-old Zoeck offered money to a 17-year-old male in exchange for certain acts, police said. The two went to the Suburban Lodge on Woodpark Boulevard in Woodstock.

There, Zoeck allegedly bound and gagged the teen and set the boy's undergarments on fire. The teen was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he told police what happened.

Zoeck was arrested July 19 at the All Around Suites on Medlock Bridge Road in Gwinnett County. Woodstock police charged him with aggravated battery, cruelty to children first degree, false imprisonment and solicitation of sodomy.

Gwinnett police said they recognized Zoeck from surveillance photos from the Aquatic Center. Police said he was a regular at the pool.

"Once he was picked up and we had a good ID on him, that actually led to us being able to charge him in this case as well," Smith said.

The suspect was charged in Gwinnett with enticing a child for indecent purposes. The man remains jailed in Cherokee County in the Woodstock incident.
