Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos and Auburn Mayor Linda Blechinger have been named two of five finalists for the 2011 Women in Municipal Government Leadership Award.
The award recognizes individual achievement in initiating creative and successful programs in local government to help citizens, particularly if their leadership serves as a mentoring model for future female leaders.
The winner will be announced Nov. 11 during the National League of Cities’ Congress of Cities and Exposition in Phoenix, Ariz.
