The Lilburn City Council voted 4-0 Monday evening to streamline permitting fees, making it easier to do business with the city. For the past two years, depending on the type of business license, businesses have been required to add a two percent public art fee to help provide a funding mechanism for art within the city.

With the change approved Monday, the two percent public art fee will now be built into permit costs for a flat fee. Fee amounts overall did not change. In addition, a boarding-up permit was added to encourage proper enclosure of vacant properties.
