The deadline to apply for the Lilburn Police Department’s 2018 Citizen’s Police Academy is fast approaching. Citizens interested in the 10-week program designed to educate and inform the public about issues facing law enforcement efforts have until Jan. 30 to apply.

Each CPA session consists of 10 consecutive, two-hour Thursday night classes. Each week a separate area of the department is covered. Topics include crime prevention and community based policing, drugs, K9, traffic enforcement, accident investigations, criminal investigations, the ‘Use of Force Model’ and use of force training, firearms safety and the law, as well as a tour of the Gwinnett County Jail.
