The Lilburn City Council amended its alcoholic beverage ordinance Monday to decrease the potential number of package stores in Lilburn. The existing ordinance limited the number of package stores to one per 2,000 residents. The new amendment limits the number of liquor stores to one per 3,000 residents.

The city’s Alcohol Review Board recommended further limitations on package store locations shortly after the approval of two new package stores in May. The amended ordinance takes effect immediately. The ordinance will not impact existing stores or stores that have already been approved for construction.
