Lawrenceville has canceled its annual Hometown Christmas Parade due to the threat of inclement weather.

As of 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a high of 38 degrees was forecasted for Friday, with a mix of rain and snow possible, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz. The parade was planned for Friday evening.f

The city of Lawrenceville considered the weather conditions, safety and the “general ability of the public to enjoy a parade in inclement weather” in making the decision to cancel, according to a press reelase.

The parade will not be rescheduled. It was planned to include community floats as well as Santa Claus and reindeer.
