In an agreement made in 2014, a landscaping business owned by David Manchester was allowed to use property at 2665 and 2675 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville for a landscaping business. The temporary special use permit allowed operation for 12 months out of a residential structure.

As the permit was due to expire, the business would need to either request a zoning change or convert the business to comply with commercial business zoning and improve the property to a permanent structure.

In an application filed Nov. 12, Manchester requested a limited change in the special use permit to continue operation out of a trailer and to allow a concrete contractor to continue storing materials on the lot.

The Lawrenceville city council voted Jan. 4 to the permit changes allowing the second business to store concrete materials until June 30.

After June 30 the special use permit applies only to the pine straw and landscape material business. The requirement for Manchester to improve the facility to a commercial building was also waived. The requirement remains in effect once a commercial business proposal is presented.
