The Lassiter High School band will play at the 2013 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade.

The Marching Trojan Band was among the 20 selected from 475 applicants, according to Cobb County Schools. The New Year's Day performance in Pasadena will mark the fourth in a quarter century for Lassiter. The school band also played the Rose Parade in 1988, 2001 and 2005, according to the school system.

About 250 students and 30 school staffers and chaperones plan to make the week-long trip. They'll begin fundraising after Thanksgiving.
