King suggests elections change

Peachtree City is considering changing its municipal election cycle to occur in even-numbered years, as suggested by city council member Mike King on Thursday.

King first raised the issue a year ago, but brought it back before the council in hopes of getting state legislature approval during the current session. The idea is based on reducing costs and improving voter turnout by having local elections coincide with state and national cycles. The council is asking for public comment before it votes on the measure on April 2.
