The King family lights an eternal flame at the King Center to mark the anniversary of the 1968 assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.

Arndrea King, wife of Martin Luther King, III, and daughter Yolanda Renee, the only grandchild of Marin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, attend a wreath-laying ceremony and eternal flame lighting at the King Center Saturday in Atlanta. The flame, lit on the anniversarry of MLK's assassination in 1968, symbolizes the continuing effort to realize the King's dream of a better society.
