Two people were killed when they were ejected from their vehicle after the driver lost control on I-75 North in Cobb County, police said.

About 3:15 a.m. Sunday, a silver 2005 Jeep Wrangler was approaching Barrett Parkway, spokeswoman Sarah O’Hara said.

The Jeep “was traveling above the speed limit, according to witnesses,” O’Hara said.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, lost control, and the Jeep left the road, hit a guardrail and started rotating, according to police.

“The Jeep then began rolling, causing the driver and the passenger to be ejected from the vehicle,” O’Hara said.

The driver and the passenger, a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names weren’t released, pending notification of family members.

Anyone with knowledge of the crash is asked to contact Cobb police at 770-499-3987.
