Sturgis the owl wants to take the evacuees of Hurricane Florence under his wing.
Kennesaw State University is offering free tickets for its home-opener game against Alabama State University to all displaced by the storm as it moves toward the Carolinas.
Evacuees can distract themselves with a couple hours of a ASUN-SWAC contest Saturday at 5 p.m. All they have to do is show up to Fifth Third Bank Stadium, starting at 2 p.m., with a valid North Carolina or South Carolina ID.

David Beall, with the team’s communications staff, said there was no way to expect how many evacuees will show up and declined to say how many tickets had already been sold.
Such evacuees can park in the Grey Lot, which costs $15 on gameday.
For those new to KSU football, here's how to get to the grey lot. Also, heads-up that the stadium has a clear bag policy.

If you want to act like a regular, know that KSU hasn't lost a home game since Oct. 15, 2016, which is about 700 days ago. And keep an eye out for quarterback Chandler Burks, who has been having big games.
If you are an evacuee coming to the game, we at the newspaper would like to hear about it. You can reach out to this reporter here. Thanks, and Hooty Hoo! (That's what you say at the games, by the way.)
