A Norfolk Southern train hit a tractor-trailer that was stuck on railroad tracks in Norcross, Gwinnett County fire officials said.

The driver was out of the truck when the vehicle was hit Friday evening at the intersection of Thrasher Street and Holcomb Bridge Road.

Crews arrived to the scene and found the truck, which was carrying furniture, split in half, Gwinnett fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in a news release.

No one was injured, but multiple cars were damaged in a nearby parking lot, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The train conductor was evaluated by paramedics after a “minor complaint,” Rutledge said. Crews also checked a hydraulic leak from a locomotive car.

No train cars were derailed during the crash.

Rutledge said rail service in the area is stopped while authorities investigate the crash.
