A DeKalb County school bus driver was taken to the hospital Friday morning after three school buses collided in a chain reaction.

The accident happened just before 9 a.m. on U.S. 78 before I-285, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

The buses hit each other, one after the other, school district spokeswoman Eileen Houston-Stewart said. No students were on any of the three buses. The district did not specify how the crash happened or which driver initiated it.

Two drivers were checked out by medics and released, but one was taken to DeKalb Medical Center, she said.

The condition of that driver is not known.
