A tractor-trailer driver was killed Wednesday afternoon in a Paulding County neighborhood, according to investigators.

The incident happened in a construction area off Burnt Hickory Lane in Seven Hills, near Dallas, Sgt. Ashley Henson with the Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators believe Daniel Deiter, 52, of Cornelia, was working on top of the tractor-trailer when it began to roll backwards. Deiter lost his footing and fell off the trailer, which then rolled over him.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the death.
