A Jonesboro customer service rep and mother of three has won a $1 million Georgia Lottery prize while playing the instant game Extreme Green.

Maritza Barclay bought the winning while at the Chevron Food Mart, 320 Fairview Road in Ellenwood with her husband Neville.

“I was there playing KENO!, and I decided to play a scratch off,” she said. “I started seeing a lot of zeros. I blinked, I was jittery, and my husband said, ‘What happened to you?’ ”

Although she won the biggest jackpot, she isn't the only lottery winner in the family.  Her son, Manuel Prado, won a $10,000 Georgia Lottery prize in April, according to lottery officials.

Barclay, 49, said she intends to invest her winnings.

“We like to save money,” she said. “Frugality runs in the family.”
