The Jonesboro City Council approved placing a conditional use permit request on the council meeting agenda during the work session last week. The permit allows the owner and applicant, John Mitchell, to lease the property at 184 North Ave. Suite 104 to the You Can Do It Institute. The organization plans to operate a computer training school for children.

The council also approved the appointment of Allen Roark as a new member of the Jonesboro Housing Authority. Roark will take the place of James Henry, who resigned last month.
