The Johns Creek Convention & Visitors Bureau is adding color-changing lights to the recently painted pedestrian underpass beneath Medlock Bridge Road.

The lights will be visible in the tunnel after dark starting Saturday, Sept. 8, officials said. The tunnel is near 11695 Medlock Bridge, just south of the intersection with McGinnis Ferry Road.

The tunnel will be illuminated by white LED lights during the day and by colors at night, and the colors will change throughout the year.

“The color-changing lights give us a unique attraction we can market year-round,” said Lynda Smith, chairwoman of the Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“You might see orange on Halloween or red and green for the holidays,” Smith said. “The colorful lights will give visitors a new perspective of the tunnel each time they walk through.”

Indian artist Hanif Kureshi and dozens of local volunteers completed a mural in the tunnel in April. Information: https://bit.ly/2MPUPnD
