It’s no secret that John Lewis is one of Atlanta’s most beloved leaders.
As the city's 5th Congressional District representative, a global civil rights activist and a co-founder of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, he is an icon.
That's why Time has included him in the Reader's Choice poll for its 2017 100 most influential people list - though his public feud with President Donald Trump in January probably played a role too.

The publication made the announcement earlier this week, inviting people to vote for who they think should make the cut. Although Time’s editors will choose the final group of honorees, folks can still submit their top picks.
Like the actual list, the Reader’s Choice one spans the sports, entertainment and politics industries and includes a range of figures such as Colin Kaepernick, Barry Jenkins and Steve Bannon.
Voting is open until 11:59 pm on April 16, and the winner will be announced immediately after. The official list will be revealed April 20.
Ready to cast your ballot? Take the poll - but if you're looking for Lewis, be prepared to flip quite a few times, 77 to be exact.
