Gwinnett County Schools officials said Thursday a vote on Ivy Preparatory Academy's K-12 charter petition has been deferred.

Officials said the petitioner asked for the delay.

The school board was scheduled to vote on the charter petition at the board’s business meeting. Ivy Prep was appealing to the district to expand and open a K-12 campus for girls and one for boys. The campus applied to the board for consideration before its authorizer, the Georgia Charter Schools Commission was overturned by the state Supreme Court.
