An Italian manufacturer will open its first U.S. facility in Gwinnett County, officials announced Thursday.

Rivacold, which manufactures refrigeration systems used in a variety of industries, plans to create 140 jobs at a new $5 million facility in Buford.

“Rivacold will join a booming manufacturing industry in our state, and I am excited for the opportunities this new facility will create for hardworking Georgians in Gwinnett County,” Gov. Brian Kemp said in a news release.

Rivacold is headquartered in Montecchio, Italy, and employs 1,200 people worldwide.

Its new facility will join a number of manufacturers already operating in the city of Buford.

“Their investment will bring over 100 new jobs to our community and we look forward to a strong partnership with them for years to come,” Buford City Manager Bryan Kerlin said.
