A grand jury has indicted a Canton man after he allegedly threatened a Cherokee County church in October.
The Toonigh Church of God in Holly Springs was evacuated Oct. 17 after Randell Wayne Carroll threatened to kill Pastor J.B. Kitts and members of his congregation, according to the indictment filed Feb. 12.
The 59-year-old is accused of threatening violence to “take lives,” the indictment states.
He has been held without bond at the Cherokee County jail, sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Marianne Kelley said.
Carroll’s arraignment is set for March 7.
