A Cobb County grand jury has indicted two men accused of robbing and carjacking a Marietta restaurant delivery driver.

The grand jury on Thursday indicted Quatreion Hughes, 19, of Toney, Alabama, and 22-year-old Raiquon Anderson of Huntsville, Alabama, on one count each of armed robbery and hijacking a motor vehicle, three counts of possession of a firearm during a commission of a felony and two counts of attempted armed robbery. Anderson was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Marietta police arrested both men following an attempted robbery reported at 2:50 p.m. Sept. 22 at Red Latina Check Cashing at 1869 Cobb Parkway South. The caller told Cobb County 911 dispatchers that two men armed with handguns tried to rob the business, but were unsuccessful, according to police.

Minutes later, a delivery driver for Marietta Wings & More, which is next to the check-cashing store, called 911 to report his restaurant had been robbed, Marietta police said. He also said the two men allegedly assaulted him and stole his vehicle, the agency added.

Marietta officers were dispatched to the area, and passed along descriptions of the two men to Smyrna and Cobb police. They also obtained surveillance video from both businesses of the two accused robbers.

The two men were apprehended by cops after a housekeeper at Sleep Inn on Powers Ferry Place called 911 at 3:08 p.m. to report “two young men were walking around with handguns,” Marietta cops said.

In a separate case, Hughes was also indicted last week on charges of aggravated assault and obstruction of a police officer. He is accused of putting a Cobb County sheriff’s deputy in a choke hold during a Sept. 25 incident at the Adult Detention Center, the indictment says.

Cobb County Superior Court records also show Anderson waived extradition to the state of Alabama where he was charged with being a fugitive of justice.

Both men remain held without bond at the Cobb jail.
