Two Alabama men have been arrested after police say they tried to hold up a business, and robbed and carjacked a restaurant delivery driver Sunday in Marietta.
Both men, identified as Quatreion Hughes, 19, of Toney, Alabama, and 21-year-old Raiquon Anderson of Huntsville, Alabama, were apprehended within the hour of their first alleged crime committed in the city, Marietta police said.
Cobb County 911 received a call around 2:50 P.M. from Red Latina Check Cashing business at 1869 Cobb Parkway South alleging two armed men tried to rob the business, but were unsuccessful,police said Monday.
Five minutes later, a delivery driver for Marietta Wings & More, which is located next to the check cashing business, called 911 to report the restaurant had been robbed, and the two men allegedly assaulted him and stole his vehicle, the agency added.
Marietta officers were dispatched to the area, and passed along descriptions of the two men to Smyrna and Cobb County police. They also obtained surveillance video from both businesses of the two accused robbers.

A housekeeper working at Sleep Inn on Powers Ferry Place called 911 at 3:08 p.m. to report “two young men were walking around with handguns,” police said. Cobb and Marietta officers arrived at the hotel and took the men into custody. The stolen car, personal property belonging to the delivery driver, and cash were recovered by police, Marietta police said.
Anderson is charged with attempted armed robbery, armed robbery and hijacking a motor vehicle. Hughes faces charges of two counts of attempted armed robbery, armed robbery and hijacking a motor vehicle. They both remain held without bond at the Cobb County Jail.
Marietta Police Chief Dan Flynn said he was impressed with how first responders and citizens collaborated to help apprehend the two men.
“This is another shining example of a community working together to keep our streets safe,” he said.
