Arlington, Va.-based Imagine Schools Inc., a for-profit company that has managed six charter schools in Georgia, but no longer operates any, has been granted non-profit status from the Internal Revene Service for its Imagine Schools Non-Profit, Inc., affiliated organization. For-profit charter management companies have come under criticism in Georgia from some opponents of state-established charter schools, an issue that will be on the November ballot.
