Two people were injured Wednesday morning when two school buses collided in DeKalb County.

A bus from the Bright Beginnings Learning Center, traveling southbound on 2nd Avenue near Flat Shoals Avenue, rear-ended a DeKalb County special needs bus en route to McNair High School around 7:45 a.m.

The driver of the special needs bus and the bus monitor were both taken to DeKalb Medical Center with undetermined injuries. Their names and conditions were not immediately available.

Abie Lindsey, driver of the Bright Beginnings Learning Center bus, told the AJC that the other driver stopped abruptly. "She just stopped," said Lindsey, who had two students on his bus. "There was no traffic in front of her. Next thing I know I'm sliding when my brakes locked up where I was trying to stop."

No children were injured.
