Hosea Feed the Hungry returns to Morris Brown for Easter dinner
Hosea Feed the Hungry will observe its 40th anniversary feeding Georgia's homeless and working poor by returning to the Morris Brown College gym for the HFTH 2010 Easter Dinner Festival of Service.
Returning to the college, one of its early sites, " represents a point in which Feed the Hungry went from serving 500 people to serving thousands of people," said Awodele Omilami, director of logistics. He said taking the operation to Morris Brown on Easter also serves as a memorial to the Rev. Hosea Williams, the founder and prominent civil rights leader.
Morris Brown is Williams' alma mater.
The event includes dinners, clothes, barber and beauty services, Easter baskets for children, music and ministry. It begins at 10 a.m. Sunday at the gym, located at 592 Mitchell St.
Volunteers are needed to clean up the gym on Saturday and for the Easter festival service. For information visit: www.hoseafeedthehungry.com.
