Atlanta will be the first city to launch a new campaign that encourages black gay and bisexual men to get tested for HIV.

"Testing Makes Us Stronger," will highlight the importance of a person knowing their status. The campaign is  part of  the Centers for Disease Control and  Prevention's "Act Against AIDS" initiative to refocus national attention on HIV prevention and testing.

On Thursday and Friday,  the Fulton County Department of  Health Services will provide free HIV testing to residents. In Fulton County, the number of HIV infected persons represents more than 30 percent of all of the HIV infections in the 28-county Atlanta Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Testing will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the North Avenue MARTA station and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the  Lindbergh MARTA station.
