The Henry County Water Authority’s Walnut Creek water reclamation facility was named Plant of the Year by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals at its recent annual conference.

It was the third such award for the Walnut Creek plant in the past nine years, and the Indian Creek wastewater treatment facility has won the award twice in that time.

This year the HCWA also received a Best Operated Water Plant certificate for its Towaliga water treatment facility, last year’s Plant of the Year winner, which was cited with a separate honor for 10 consecutive years without a permit violation. The HCWA was also honored for its public outreach and education efforts.
