Krystal Richter, a first-grade teacher at Rock Spring Elementary School, was named Teacher of the Year for all of Henry County’s public schools. The announcement was made during the Harvest of Heroes ceremony Oct. 19 at the Performing Arts Center.

She is a 14-year veteran of teaching and a 10-year veteran teacher in Henry County. She now moves on to represent the school system in the Georgia Teacher of the Year competition.

Richter received cash and prizes, including funds for professional development conferences, totaling more than $8,000. That included the biggest prize of the night, a one-time stipend from the school system for $5,000.
