The Hapeville City Council will discuss an ordinance about the distance an establishment that sells alcohol can be from a school or place of worship during the meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hapeville City Hall, 700 Doug Davis Drive.

The council will review the ordinance in respect to the Crest Package Store at 371 North Central Ave. which received an alcohol license in 1999. The recent change in ownership requires the council review because under the current law the store would not meet the distance requirements between the store and the nearest school.

The previous owner was in compliance because when the store opened the distance ordinance was in effect.
