All state court criminal hearings and arraignments in Gwinnett County were abruptly canceled Monday.

In a statement, the court administrator said the cancellation was “due to the public health emergency.” No additional information was available and the phone line was busy Monday evening.

The cancellations are in effect until July 17 at 5 p.m., the statement said. The cases will all be rescheduled.

The coronavirus pandemic continues to be an issue in Gwinnett and throughout the rest of metro Atlanta.
