Hundreds of thousands of Gwinnett County septic tank records are now available for free inspection at the county’s web site.

Gwinnett County’s Water Resources Department and the East Metro Health District digitized the records and added them to the county’s geographic information system database.

The records will help homeowners find septic systems on their property so they can maintain them as required by law. They also will allow the county to track possible pollution sources.

To access the records, visit www.gwinnettcounty.com and click on "GIS data browser" under "popular links."
