Gwinnett man killed in motorcycle wreck

Jan 2, 2011A 62-year-old man died Friday after his motorcycle and a pick-up truck collided head-on in south Hall County.
Walter Hedges Jr., of Buford, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in critical condition following the 2:40 p.m. crash on McEver Road, a spokesman for the Georgia State Patrol said.
Hedges was heading southbound on McEver Road on a 2004 BMW motorcycle when he was struck by a 2003 Ford truck northbound on McEver attempted to make a left turn, Gordy Wright, GSP spokesman, told the AJC.
Charges are pending against the driver of the truck, 22-year-old Matthew Lee Millwood, Wright said. Millwood sustained minor injuries in the crash.
