Gwinnett launches online tool to track deficit reduction

Feb 23, 2011

Gwinnett County has launched an online tool that allows residents to track the county’s progress on eliminating an $18 million deficit in its 2011 general fund budget.

The Board of Commissioners approved the budget in January but vowed to close the gap between revenues and expenditures in coming months. The commission already has taken several actions that have reduced the deficit to about $14.4 million.

The home page of the county's web site now features a tracker that allows residents to view details of various measures that have reduced the deficit. To view the deficit reduction tracker, visit www.gwinnettcounty.com.
