$1.1M Gwinnett home modeled after Savannah's historic Davenport House

May 13, 2016

Looking for a touch of the Georgia coast in metro Atlanta?

There's no beach included, but this $1.17-million Gwinnett home may scratch your itch.

According to its listing, the home at 3940 Muirfield Square in Duluth is a "reproduction" of Savannah's Davenport House, an historic home built in the 1820s, saved from demolition in the 1950s and converted to a museum. The listing offers no hints as to why, exactly, the home was reproduced so far north. But the resemblance is striking.

The Duluth home offers four floors, a saltwater pool and "breathtaking views" of the river -- the Chatthoochee, not the Savannah.
