Participants will learn about topics including SWAT, crime scene investigation and gang awareness. They may tour the county jail and the 911 center as well, according to a department release.

There are sessions planned for middle school and high school students. The middle school session, for students who will enter grades six through eight in the fall, will be held from June 11 to June 15. The high school session, for students who will enter grades nine through 12, will be held July 9 to July 13. Each session will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The program is free to all Gwinnett County students. Those interested should fill out an application, which is available online.
